What you’ll do
As the SEO Manager you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online visibility, driving organic traffic, and optimising our digital assets for search engines. Your expertise in search engine optimisation will be pivotal in strengthening our brand's online presence and contributing to the overall success of Woolworths in the competitive digital landscape.
You will bring analytical and data expertise to help create and deliver the SEO strategy for brands within the group. With a strong focus on ecommerce and omni-channel strategies, you will focus on tangible business outcomes (sales).
This role is hands-on and involves key stakeholder management. You will be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring technical understanding, clear communication, excellent organisational skills.
Driving excellence by managing efficient and transparent processes to ensure quality at scale across multiple platforms. You will work well under pressure, enabling efficient running of campaigns & initiatives.
You will also:
- Partner closely with the Search, Analytics, Experience & Solutions teams to provide thought leadership and be a SME as to the needs of the business and meet commercial and member engagement KPIs.
- You will also work closely with our agency partners and vendors such as Google, Tealium & Adobe.
- Optimise on-page elements, including meta titles, descriptions, headings, and content, to improve search rankings and user engagement.
- Perform regular technical SEO audits to identify and address website performance issues, crawl errors, and technical glitches.
- Collaborate closely with content creators and designers to ensure all digital assets are optimised for search engines, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering a seamless user experience.
- Continually optimise and improve campaign response, ROI, channel utilisation and customer relevance.
- Instigate test and learn programs to trial best practise and leading edge campaigns and tactics to drive conversion.
What you’ll bring
Coming from a background in digital technologies, you will demonstrate business acumen, excellent communication and technical know-how that will help drive success. You’re as comfortable facilitating sessions with stakeholders as you are with breaking down bugs and getting into the technical nitty gritty with the team.
Your ability to zoom in on the data and details while maintaining a broad view of the bigger picture is critical. Most importantly, you should possess the strategy and skills to take an idea from inception to delivery.
You will also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Moz, SEMrush, etc.
- Proficiency in analyzing website data and extracting actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex SEO concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they pertain to SEO is advantageous.
