What you’ll do

You will be responsible for initiating, investigating and resolving Organised Retail Crime (ORC) incidents across our stores. Partnering closely with Police and the Supermarkets Investigations team, you will support best practice ORC investigation activities aligned to the National Framework and provide accurate and timely reporting as required to the business.

This is a fixed-term position, currently available until June 2024. This is a hybrid role, with preferred locations of Melbourne and Perth, however, we are open to applications nationwide, if you meet the below criteria.

The crux of this role is to remove non-payment offenders from our stores, reduce harm to our team and lead with the customer in all thinking, planning and prioritising. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead investigations in line with standards, including interviews, statements & brief preparations
  • Engage internal stakeholders such as the Operations Team, Asset team and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse data and trends to determine initiatives required to support our teams
  • Contribution & provide advice in the development of strategic Loss priorities
  • Coach Operations teams to drive consistency in the application of policy and procedures to reduce shrinkage

What you’ll bring
If you are an experienced corporate investigator or with an investigations background in law enforcement and can join the dots to identify offenders, this role is for you. The person will hold a warm empathetic coaching style to continuously challenge the status quo with our operational leaders, store support, and store teams. You will be able to:

  • Demonstrate previous experience in an Investigations role (min. 5yrs)
  • Incident management experience, including high-risk situations
  • Manage & effectively communicate with stakeholders at all Operational levels
  • Gain agreement with stakeholders on decisions through balanced negotiation or positioning.
  • Create & present packs and demonstrate strong delivery skills
  • Think strategically and focus on higher-level goals and perspectives
  • Demonstrate In-depth knowledge of retail process and supplier mechanics to deliver improvements in compliance
