About Us

About the role
Within this role, you will be required to successfully plan and execute safe, cost effective transport movements from Woolworths Suppliers into Woolworths DC sites by leveraging our carrier network. Utilising our relationships with internal Woolworths stakeholders, Suppliers and Carrier partners to deliver quality service and achieve our delivery in full and on time metrics.
The Opportunity
Working in a passionate and supportive team, time will be spent building and managing stakeholder relationships, as well as:
- Performing daily transport planning activities in our Transport Management System (TMS)
- Ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) target is achieved at all times
- Follow up and resolve manual exceptions and issues
- Carry out preliminary Investigations of Carrier and Vendor transport claims
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Transport Planning Manager
- Ensure external and internal stakeholder expectations are met for transport movements
- Communicate daily with replenishment, warehouses, vendors and transport carriers as required
- Generate reports using TMS and other reporting systems
- Monitor and follow up to ensure carriers and suppliers are adhering to Chain of Responsibility (COR) at all times
- Manage transport planning for multiple lanes simultaneously
Who we’re looking for
Our Operations Team is currently seeking a highly motivated, passionate individual for the challenging role of Transport Planner. Woolworths Primary Connect business provides a reliable and convenient transport service from Supplier facilities into multiple Distribution Centres across Australia. Primary Connect contributes to more than 50% of the volume into Woolworths DCs. To be successful you will:
- Have exposure to the transport & logistics industry (preferred)
- Be experienced in working in a target driven environment
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Have a proven ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Have excellent systems and computer skills
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
