About the Role
You empower a core squad within the Woolworths Food Company to deliver on an ambitious value chain optimisation project.
You are responsible for building and maintaining the ongoing data source (Spend Cube) in use by the team, consistently and accurately analysing insights, and providing directional paths of potential outcomes, and applying buying processes through your strong analytical and problem-solving rigor.
You will engage consistently with our WFC team to support supplier landscape reviews, performance, and ongoing maintenance to continue growth for WFC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Maintain an ongoing Spend Cube & database for the generation of insights & prioritised COGS initiatives
- Create a reporting structure/platform that delivers simple reporting of critical milestones and monitoring of dependencies for focus projects across the Value Chain (OBX) Program
- Leverage key third-party data sources for data analysis (knowledge of SQL desired but not critical)
- Identify and support value chain initiatives to deliver additional savings recognised as COGS
- Create a flight path and report/publish the progress of the program to management
- Create cost models for key categories as per the OBX roadmap and waveplan
- Support OBX squad with RFx analysis
- Supporting Annual Operating Plan / Budgeting process
About You
You are a self-starter who has a strong sense of ownership with the following key attributes:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Tier 1, Tier 2, or boutique consulting firm
- Experience in identifying trends and key financial risks, in order to assess the risks and opportunities for Woolworths and assist in the development of COGS initiatives
- Expertise in gathering and Analysing data specific to categories and the industry
- Scenario modeling (using variables such as FX, variable cost drivers, etc)
- Exceptional written, and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Excel including VBE and PowerPoint
- Prior experience in a cost-out program will be highly regarded
- Strong proficiency in typical presentation/analytics tools - Powerpoint, Excel (or G-Suite equivalents)
- Able to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders through effective work planning & structured communication
- The ability to engage and communicate with all stakeholders with differing interests and priorities. Being able to adapt style and influencing skills to work effectively and collaboratively
