Senior Decision Analyst - Whitbread - Dunstable

Pay rate: £35,000 - £45,000

Contract Type: 12 Month FTC

Location: Whitbread Court, Dunstable, LU5 5XE. We offer flexible working and require you to be in the office at least 2 days a week.

By focusing on a functional area or business process, a Decision Analyst’s role is to become sufficiently knowledgeable of existing business process that they can apply their analytical skills on either a reactive or proactive basis to prioritise and deliver high quality analysis that enables functional Heads of Department to lead data-driven change.

The Decision Analyst is instrumental in the delivery of this data driven change either through consulting with the functional team in question or working alongside other members of the Decision Science team to deliver a prototype and eventually a supported process ‘in-house’.

What you’ll do:

  • Use any available data to develop and evolve an interpretation of functional performance at overall and process level
  • Identify key trends and patterns, leveraging existing BI visualisations or own analysis of the underlying data
  • Develop concise, high-impact commentary on performance trends and key drivers, enabling functional teams to understand and communicate key messages
  • Support functional Head of Department in developing and evolving relevant metrics that enable better visibility and tracking of performance trends

What you’ll need:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance improvement
  • Ability to develop hypotheses and business cases for change, and to connect this to an analytical workplan
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to both support and challenge key stakeholders
  • Advanced analytical, statistical, modelling skills using a range of coding languages and tools (R, Python, SQL, VBA, DataBricks)
