About the role
The Head of Network Services – Planning role is a great career opportunity that will require exceptional leadership and operational skills along with highly developed stakeholder relationship skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of all interim alterations to the Network Service Plan, passenger and freight rail services and coach operations.
You will also be required to ensure that all service alterations are conducted in a manner which prioritizes safe and reliable service delivery, demonstrates value for money and achieves high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities include:
Oversee all interim alterations to the Network Service Plan (NSP) in a manner which ensures V/Line's operational, customer and contractual objectives are achieved or exceeded
Ensure all planned disruption events are effectively coordinated with key internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with V/line's statutory and legislative requirements, including adherence with the operational safety requirements defined under the Rail Safety Act and Book of Rules and Regulations.
Oversee and ensure contractual compliance with all relevant requirements defined within the Service Level Agreement between the State Government and V/Line.
Manage operational relationships with network access providers and users in a manner which complies with access agreements, prioritises effective collaboration and ensure high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
Oversee all financial control activities for the Network Planning division and ensure all budgetary outcome achieve or exceed forecast.
Develop and drive a high-performance culture which improves employee engagement, productivity and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce.
About you
You are someone with strong proven experience in managing a team in a dynamic planning environment.
You will bring a minimum of at least three years’ experience within a rail transportation environment, government enterprise, and industrial environment with a high degree of appreciation of managing systems within a railway operations culture is desirable.
You will also have strong understanding of the transport sector and the Victorian Government context and priorities.
