As the Executive Officer for the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC), you will be responsible for providing top quality advice and engagement on a variety of high-level strategic and operational matters.

In this role you will:

  • Undertake in-depth research and analysis to provide accurate strategy, advice, and reporting.
  • Manage communications and engagement for the OVC by preparing a range of materials including briefings, papers, speeches, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain effective, professional, and consultative relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Head of Government Relations to deliver strategic external engagement with government, industry, and community stakeholders.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).


How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including strong writing and research capabilities.
  • Experience providing evidence-based advice to senior executives in a large multi-dimensional organisation to allow you to effectively navigate the complexities of the Higher Education (HE) environment.
  • The ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Your interpersonal and oral communication skills, and ability to work effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external to the University, are a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrated agility, innovative thinking, sensitivity, and confidentiality, and have a track record of exercising sound judgement and delivering strategic outcomes.
  • The ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, leveraging your organisational and administrative skills to balance operational delivery with people and governance matters.


What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $125,767 to $134,749 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
