The Division
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

The opportunity
The role of Network Development Officer is responsible for contributing to the development of multi-modal integrated network optional analysis to ensure optimum investment and intervention across the Regional and Outer Metropolitan Transport network. This includes contributing to the development and delivery of business cases across the portfolio, including conducting detailed analysis as well as planning and providing strategic advice to ensure business cases meet approval requirements


What you will be involved in
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of business cases across the portfolio, including conducting or coordinating detailed analysis of the business needs, financials and operating models, to capture requirements accurately and facilitate the development of business cases that address business needs. Additionally, this role will be accountable for;

  • Gather technical input, data and information from key stakeholders and ensure information is captured effectively and clearly articulates all program/project requirements to ensure information is accurately captured within business cases.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, as required, to ensure specific projects are developed in line with defined integrated transport network strategies and address immediate to short term network performance issues that have been identified and prioritised.
  • Assist with the assessment and selection of project nominations and proposals to ensure the optimum solutions are fully developed to meet the objectives of integrated transport network management.
  • Provide feedback accordingly in relation to programs and projects for media and ministerial enquiries and community response

About you
As the Network Development Officer you will be expected to deliver expert advice to customers, clients and stakeholders, often within short timeframes and under challenging circumstances. You will be accountable for the quality, integrity and validity of the service provided.

We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience with investigating and contributing to the development of traffic, safety and congestion projects, transport systems management and traffic engineering practice and traffic modelling. In addition you will have an understanding of business cases and the gateway process.

You must have Tertiary qualifications in traffic engineering and transport planning or a related discipline, or relevant experience.

Salary and Benefits
Transport Grade 8 ($118,015 132,176) + Super
