TE Connectivity in Winston-Salem, NC is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to support ADM and APL Compounding Business Unit with resins and chemicals requirements as well as manage different commodities at a global level: Fluoropolymers, Flame Retardants, PEEK, PEI, and lead and define the commercial strategy for those materials. Work on a variety of engineering and procurement projects to improve main KPI’s: Productivity, Delivery and Quality. Projects include driving negotiations with suppliers to close contracts, award new business, identify second source materials and alternatives to drive VA/VE projects and coordinate any changes of materials with the engineering groups. Lead all TEOA (TE Operating Advantage for continuous improvement) tasks and keep the Global Center Led Resins organization at the highest level (Star Level 5) by improving and establishing standard procedures to cover the different elements and tools: Management System, Strategy Deployment, Process Improvement, Mindset Culture. Collaborate and support TE Engineering functions, corporate resin procurement managers, and procurement activities in order to meet TE Key Performance Indicators, Supplier Quality, Delivery and Productivity. Source new raw materials/suppliers when required. Participate in negotiations and, leading commercial levers (LCC, RFQ, NEG) and supporting and pushing technical levers (OMP, VAVE) to boost core productivity in the region and globally. Lead and support TE strategic plans and footprint development by assisting in the evaluation of transportation and distribution suppliers, reviewing current networks, and meeting with internal stakeholders to evaluate current and future requirements, and develop recommendations and implementation timelines. Responsible for TEOA related to Resins Procurement and help the team maintain 5 Star level. Work with TEOA within Global Procurement to deploy TEOA engineering tools, concepts and methodologies and drive consistent, repeatable processes across all business unit procurement functions. Analyze existing TE business operations processes and identify areas of opportunity to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes. Support and lead logistics activities to meet TE Key Performance Indicators related to cost, quality, delivery, and productivity. Build TE relationships and work with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to identify savings opportunities, develop cost effective supplier strategies, and follow through implementation. Participate in sourcing decisions ensuring compliance to platform lists and GMSS grade classification and platforming preferred grades. Ensure strategies and suppliers are focused on Quality, Cost, Delivery & ECE. Provide effective resin forecast by supplier and grades which will help the Resins Procurement team in negotiations and cost savings and enable selection of strategic resins in NPD.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.
Special Requirements: Requires 5 years of experience with:
- Commodity based, new product introduction or procurement functions;
- TEOA Culture and star level process knowledge;
- Price negotiations, product strategies, industry trends and knowledge;
- Manufacturing principles, sourcing strategy development, practices, and procedures;
- Company competitive policies and procedures; and
- Development of metrics for product-line supply chain performance.
