Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Media Analyst who will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the media coverage of our organization, our competitors and the industry as a whole in order to develop insightful and actionable recommendations to optimize our communications efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop metrics and analytics plans to measure the impact of communications activities, initiatives, and campaigns and guide strategy and decision making.
  • Constantly consume news, tracking global conversations about the brand, competitors, and key topics of interest in order to find new opportunities to tell our story.
  • Build out, maintain, and monitor queries and monitor conversations to identify emerging trends and opportunities across traditional media, broadcast, and social media.
  • Develop presentation material for all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Lead campaign retrospectives to identify and integrate insights into future campaigns.
  • Think creatively to develop new media strategies and tactics based on data.
  • Assist in establishing and tracking KPIs for the External Communications team.
  • Keep up to date with best practices and shifts in policies in communications monitoring and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data, analytics and insights around communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • News obsessed, knowledge of the media landscape, and a deep understanding of owned, earned, and shared communications channels and platforms
  • Deep familiarity with a variety of tools to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns
  • Comfort synthesizing complex data and findings in layman’s terms, while maintaining the nuance required for strong data analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods to analyze communications, provide insights on past results and next steps informed by data.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and validate insights from data and use data to inform, influence, set, and measure progress against specific goals.
  • The ability to think innovatively and quickly change course if necessary, to achieve desired results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools, such as Talkwalker, Brandwatch, NetBase, Sprinklr or Crimson Hexagon.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
