QMAG Pty Limited is seeking two (2) Shift Electricians to join our company, one based at our Parkhurst operations & one based at our Kunwarara Operations. The role of Maintenance Shift Electrician is responsible for providing the optimum performance and availability of the plant’s electrical machinery and systems at our Parkhurst and Kunwarara operations. This position also requires installation and maintenance of new and existing plant and equipment. The position will be permanent full time on a continuous four-week even time shift roster to support the 24hr plant operations.

With a strong commitment to the safe and efficient operation onsite, the Maintenance Shift Electrician, will contribute to the maintenance team and the broader QMAG business by embracing a collaborative and high performing culture that ensures the availability, reliability and optimization of the plant.

The Role

The role of Maintenance Electrician will involve, amongst other things:

  • Assist all members of QMAG in need of assistance with electrical faults associated with the function of the plant.
  • Perform Statutory Testing and Inspections to maintain Australian Standards (AS-3000).
  • PLC and Citect programming modifications when required
  • Developing and installing various control systems to improve the efficiency and productivity of existing plant operations.
  • Participate in shutdowns, upgrade/project work, breakdowns and repairs of critical equipment, including fault finding, root cause analysis, general problem-solving and activities
  • Work independently and with other trades performing a variety of tasks as required by operational requirements

The Requirements

We are looking for people with the following:

Essential:

  • Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Certified
  • Hold a current Queensland manual drivers’ licence or in the process of obtaining within the next 3 months.
  • Current LVR/CPR Certificates
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Sound interpersonal relationship skills
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work 12hr shift pattern

Desirable:

  • Instrumentation and Control Experience
  • High Voltage Switching – Stage 1 & 2
