We are seeking a seasoned professional, on the FAR, with existing networks and extensive experience in providing risk management solutions to SME, Agri or Business customers. Based in the Melbourne Dealing room, the role will work with customers across Metropolitan Melbourne.
Our team:
The VIC Business Markets team works within NAB Financial Markets group and forms part of Corporate & Institutional Banking. We specialise in providing risk management solutions to businesses and individuals and offer a range of interest rate, foreign exchange and commodity products that are tailored to meet a client's specific requirements.
The role:
Applying a customer-centric lens within the fast-paced culture of the VIC Business Market team, the opportunity exists for an Associate Director, FX.
This role will see you working alongside the broader FX team to grow through acquisition. Working in a dynamic and high performing team you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with internal and external counterparts and working with clients to manage their Foreign Exchange risk.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to the total profit outcome and risk profile within the relevant sales team
- Grow the client franchise by securing customer business through competitive pricing of financial products, executing strategies, and relationship building with a portfolio of SME customers to facilitate their foreign exchange requirements
- Ensure key stakeholders are aware of our Foreign Exchange capability, research, platform and offering
- Maximise opportunities for selling FX products and services to new and existing customers
- Leverage from and deepen relationships with key stakeholders, clients and all internal business partners to deliver a great customer experience
- Actively participate in analysing opportunities, conducting product and account planning for key customers and setting out product objectives and strategies for risk management
- Assist customers and bankers to execute FX transactions through our payment platforms
- Assisting with the development and execution of national business initiatives.

- Actively drive your knowledge and expertise of global and competitor trends, market conditions, opportunities, and subsequent impact on customers to demonstrate your showcase your brand
- Stay abreast of products, with a focus on value to the customer through sales and service, timely and competitive pricing, product delivery and the right solutions for individual customer needs
- Proactively promote the client franchise through innovative and effective marketing methods and promote and deliver new products to new and existing customers
- Contribute to and support a team orientated working environment that is enjoyable and rewarding for colleagues, and consistent with the underlying objects of the business
- Take a long term collegiate approach to the professional development of junior team members including assistance with capability training, career development, being a role model and mentor, helping to increase skills, experience and work efficiency and effectiveness.
You will be:
A goal-oriented self-starter with a hint of extrovert confidence, and it’s goes without saying that you’re results driven. You will leverage from your developed skills gained with the Financial Markets business, where you have been crafting your expertise in FX products and relationship skills across internal and external stakeholder groups. Your tertiary qualifications that include a degree in a Markets related qualification - AFMA Tier 1 Accreditation in Foreign Exchange will assist you. We're happy to say that we will support you working towards the completion of your FASEA accreditation if not already obtained.
