The Role
The Health & Wellbeing Advisor plays a key role in promotion of health and active lifestyle initiatives, mental health awareness, musculoskeletal injury prevention and early intervention and community and village entertainment coordination. The role also provides assistance in the management of return to work plans, health monitoring, injury risk mitigation and safety support.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the MinRes Health Promotion calendar with facilitation of monthly health and injury prevention topics, including workshops, seminars and toolbox topics and site events.
- Review ergonomic and manual task risk assessments and provide recommendations for hazard elimination and mitigation strategies. This includes Job Dictionary review facilitation.
- Conduct field interactions and 1-on-1 infield coaching to staff on body positioning and completion of manual and highrisk tasks.
- Provide health coaching to motivate and inspire our people to set and achieve sustainable health goals through
- Physical activity and sustainable behavioural change.
- Develop health and exercise programs for individuals and facilitation of individual and group fitness classes for all capabilities and fitness levels
The Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Allied Health discipline (e.g. Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise & Health Science)
- Current CPR and Provide First Aid
- Valid WA ‘C’ class manual driver’s license
- Certificate III or IV in Fitness
- Safety qualification
- Competence in health & safety based data system
- Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar health and wellbeing function developing a sustainable and inclusive program.
- Demonstrated experience in the mining/resources sector (12 months minimum)
- Case management in a clinical or vocational rehabilitation setting
