The Microsoft Solution Assessment Specialist (SAS) is an integral part of the Microsoft Sales Team. Any successful migration or modernization project has one thing in common: great data was collected that generated valuable insights on precisely how the customer should proceed incorporating practical solutions and cloud economic recommendations.

The primary role of the SAS is to be the account team’s expert using visualized data & insights to give customers confidence in their cloud migration decisions and to tell the story of the immense business value of migrating and modernizing with Microsoft.

This role will be focused on the SMC-C and Scale segments. It will suit a person who thrives in an agile, sometimes ambiguous and fast-pace environment with multiple stakeholders. In this role the person will be working closely with sellers, partners, customers as well as Business Groups, Corp and CMO to understand how to connect our marketing engines to programs and partners to drive scale.

Responsibilities

The purpose of the role

The role of the Solution Assessment Specialist is:

  • To connect directly with customers (SMC-C) to understand their business needs, risks, and unknowns and leverages our portfolio of assessments, Assessment Desk, investments, tools and programs
  • Using the visualized data & insights that are the final deliverable of a Microsoft Solution Assessment, the SAS gives customers a clear understanding of their existing IT infrastructure based on their data, not assumptions and the the cloud economics of their migration
  • Align closely to the BGs to understand Programs that enable us to drive migration & modernize though sellers and Partners. And align to the GDC and other relevant teams to accelerate opportunities (Scale SMC) by using digital signals and Sales Plays to connect Microsoft programs to partners.

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • Strategic, long-term thinker able to analyze data that can be turned into insight that identifies trends, risks, opportunities and investments.
  • Strong understanding of customer and sales priorities and motivations and ability to advocate for Solution Assessments in conversations to ensure optimal customer experiences and success
  • Must be inspired by digital marketing execution, embrace Marketing Automation concepts, and be obsessed with delivering a compelling customer experience at scale through relevant, connected customer engagement connected to Microsoft Programs such as AMMP

Qualifications

What skills do you need to have?

There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft. However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one:

  • Relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms AND 7+ years solution sales, technical sales, marketing, communications, licensing, or channel/business development experience

Additional

  • Strong leadership presence, experience working with Sales leadership and Business Groups within M&O
  • Comfortable speaking at all organizational levels within a customer, from the CxO to other IT and business decision makers
  • Able to make the best choices for the customer based on their business needs and the appropriate level of Microsoft investment and effort
  • Team player and collaborative - high performing individualists will not be successful.
  • Operational Excellence and alignment to global processes and compliance
