Job Description/Overview:
The Microsoft Supply Chain Engineering team builds engineering tools and systems for the Devices Supply Chain and partners with the Azure team to support the Cloud Supply Chain. The Devices Supply Chain supports getting products like Xbox, Surface, HoloLens into the hands of retail or enterprise customers. The Cloud Supply Chain supports getting server capacity in our Azure Datacenters. Supply Chain is key to winning in the Devices and Cloud business because it helps us with faster time to market, increasing profitability and improving our customer experience.
We build our engineering tools and platform for HW engineers, Planners, Sourcing Managers, Factory Operations, Logistics and Warehouse Operations, Customer Support, Datacenter Ops, Microsoft Retail Stores - all of these are involved in the whole lifecycle from designing a product to ensuring we can build them at scale and deliver them to our customers. We partner with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers and retailers in order to make and sell Microsoft products and services. Our technology stack is a mix of 3rd party (SAP, Ariba, Aras, CMAP) and homegrown services built on Azure.
We are a data-driven team with a clear focus on our customers and their needs. We are hiring an experienced senior program manager for the Design, Sourcing and Make phases of the supply chain. You will collaborate closely across Supply Chain Engineering and our customers, partners, and end users to design and deliver supply chain solutions in a way that they manage cost, quality and on-time delivery and enables Microsoft to sell devices and services.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Develop critical and clear understanding of the industry, our business, and our customers, and distill those to develop the roadmap, and lead the team.
- Formulating a vision, value proposition and roadmap for improvements to Microsoft’s Supply Chain Master Data Management Platform
- Driving customer-focused engineering by planning and designing improvements based upon business and customer feedback, creating a customer-obsessed and data-driven culture
- Define, drive and prioritize functional scenarios for Supply Chain Master Data Management Platform tools improvements in alignment with business priorities that deliver the right outcomes for the business
- Provide thought leadership to the development team building key functionality, working with customers to get feedback, and iterating to improve outcomes on Master Data Management Platform
- Own and evangelize feature roadmaps to land a reference implementation of Supply Chain Master Data Management Platform on Azure or key 3P strategic partners
- Be the Platform/Product champion externally and passionate voice of the customer internally
- Work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, commitments, and projects with minimal supervision
- Provide leadership, effectively communicating and managing priorities and risk for the org up to leadership, business stakeholders and team members
- Work with partner teams for capacity planning, defining service requirements, and designing end-to-end platform capabilities and features.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Experience as a program manager (not project management), product manager
- 15+ years of experience driving and building product iteratively
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong leadership skills to influence the agenda among partners and engineering counterparts
- Ability to work with global teams and influence across matrixed organizations
- Flexible communication skills that can provide clarity to audiences that include customers, peers and executive leadership
- Demonstrated commitment to results and impact
- Experience with a metrics-driven mindset, ability to experiment, learn and improve
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Supply Chain
- Experience in Master data management
