Responsibilities
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expertise in physics, experimentation methods, and measurement techniques and guide team through process.
- Design and perform hands-on cryogenic tests and experiments on materials, components, and systems based on project plans or requests from team members.
- Modify and improve future experiments based on results.
- Develop and assemble equipment, electronics and fixtures needed for experimentation, including shell scripts and Python code.
- Perform data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting of results to the team.
- Diagnose and maintain the team’s laboratory equipment when required
- Write subsystem and system level specifications and verification plans, and test reports
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- 3+ years of work experience preferred, relevant to the capabilities and responsibilities described above and encompassing:
- Excellent hands-on bench skills including use of high-speed oscilloscope, vector network analyzer, time-domain reflectometer to validate and troubleshoot RF and high speed circuits
- Proficiency in shell scripts, Python, Ethernet networking, and development tools and associated environments
- Good communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms
Nice to Have:
- Problem solving and debug and failure analysis skills with a solid understanding of core RF and circuit engineering principles and analytical techniques
- Experience with low noise, low temperature designs and measurement
- Experience with qubit readout and control circuits
5% domestic and international travel will be required.
