The Industry Solutions Retail and Consumer Goods Service Line’s mission is to scale our ability to sell, solution, and deliver at pace for customers. We help to accelerate the digital transformation of traditional bricks and mortar retailers to become cutting-edge omnichannel businesses. We also help to accelerate the digital transformation of consumer goods companies from the traditional wholesale model to a true multi-channel DTC business. We’re looking for an exceptional technical leader and cross-team collaborator to partner with stakeholders to optimize global retail and consumer goods industry solutions sales and delivery.
The Consulting Practice Leader (CPL) is a leadership role that delivers success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. The CPL is accountable for leading a consulting services delivery organization comprised of service professionals, both managers and individual contributors, within a Time Zone or Practice. The CPL drives and optimizes the overall business and people strategy in alignment with Industry Solutions, Service Line priorities, Customer needs and Area objectives. As the leader of your organization, you will be expected to create clarity in a complex organizational environment, generate energy through a bias towards action, and deliver results from a performance and scorecard standpoint, while fostering a culture of inclusivity and growth mindset.

Customer Focus- Develops and maintains long-term business relationships with strategic customers as Executive Sponsor, alleviates customer blockers as a point of escalation and oversees financial accountability and overall responsibility between Microsoft and the client. Creates a customer centric culture within the practice that drives digital transformation.
Strategy- Develops and executes a large, complex practice plan and rhythm of business to achieve Domain consumption metrics and revenue targets (e.g., delivered, billed, consumed) and collaborates on highly strategic (e.g., high profile) captures. Acts as an innovative agent of change by working within leadership communities to define and sponsor organizational change.
Delivery Excellence- Orchestrates a large cross-functional team to drive high-impact business growth, profitability, utilization, maturity, quality, operational excellence etc. while ensuring delivery excellence and maximum efficiency of resources for their practice. Creates a problem-solving climate across teams that reduces risk and resolves complex delivery issues across lifecycle of deal (e.g., lead to order, order to cash, resourcing, pricing, invoicing, proof of execution).
Practice Building- Builds organizational capability to anticipate and plan for future capability needs, invests in key professional/career development opportunities for his or her team members and conducts succession planning. Leverages team to drive opportunities for Services delivery through pre-sales support (e.g., scoping) and reviews portfolio of deals to ensure deal quality and velocity. Drives practice to achieve key metrics and targets, sets clear expectations and provides coaching to develop process proficiency, leadership, technical and soft skills.
Managerial & Leadership- Adheres to the Model, Coach, Care framework and Leadership Principles to attract, develop, and retain Talent, deliver results through teamwork as One Microsoft, role model Microsoft values and commits to performance management.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement, both functional and technical, in the Retail and Consumer Goods industry and associated sub-verticals with knowledge of RCG sales and delivery processes
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years of relevant work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of account management experience.
- 2+ years experience in sales/selling.
2+ years of project/portfolio management experience.

The salary range for this role based in Colorado is from $150,800 to $226,000. At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
