The Projects team at Metro are range of dedicated teams pursuing project delivery and engineering excellence for the expanding suburban railway, which serves Melbourne, one the most liveable cities in the world.

The Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) is a transformational public transport project that will bring more trains to your suburb and reduce travel times by running the busy Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury lines through a new tunnel. By untangling the City Loop, more trains can run more often across Melbourne.

We’ve finished digging twin 9km tunnels, and construction is underway on 5 new stations and testing of the new High Capacity Signalling system that will enable turn-up-and-go services.

The Role

As a Completions Engineer you’ll support in the completion and integrity of asset information during

handovers to ensure safe, compliant, and integrated within the network. You’ll be an integral part of the support function for review, assessment and assurance for the alliance including detailed information around Metro’s Asset Manager System requirements.

This role will interface with key stakeholders within the Project Services Completion team, Asset Systems team as well as the Alliance regarding completions activities.

This is a fulltime, Max-Term until June 2024 role based in Melbourne’s CBD and with occasional travel to site locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Completions Engineer to ensure completions deliverables are met and delivered to the standard set by the project specification and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work with a range of internal and external stakeholders regarding completion deliverables within project timelines and the collection of asset data.
  • Assist the completions team with asset acceptance, handovers, defects, and fault management
  • Participate in site inspections and walk throughs with our stakeholders’, updating reports, managing defect registers and track and updated completion activities in Teambinder

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in similar role within Completions
  • Experience using Ellipse or equivalent Asset Management Systems
  • Has knowledge and experience reading and interpreting construction designs and as-built drawings
  • Previously used QGIS or equivalent geographical information system
  • Builds strong stakeholder relationships and effectively communicates within a range of different stakeholders
  • Has experience Microsoft Excel knowledge and ability
  • Has experience within the Engineering, Rail, and/or Construction industry
  • Currently holds or willing to obtain a Train Track Safety Awareness (TTSA), CAT 3 Medical and Construction White Card
