About the Role
As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. The experience gained in this exciting, multi-disciplinary environment will be valuable to building your ongoing career in rail construction.
Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently seeking a Completions Manager to work on our Level Crossing Removal Project for the Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance (MRPA)!
You’ll will be responsible for leading a team and overseeing the completion and integrity of asset information to ensure asset handover is done safely, to compliance requirements and effectively integrates into our network. In addition to leading completions deliverables, you’ll also drive continuous improvements across asset handover for both our network and associated stakeholder assets.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Richmond.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Manage a completions team responsible for deliverables across all phases of the project life cycle including projects in Development, Delivery and Close Out
- Drive strategy, innovation and change across the Alliance and influence key internal and external stakeholders to embed the completions mindset and processes
- Oversight of all Completion Management Plans and Drawing Management Plans
- Collaborate across a variety of internal stakeholders to coordinate the close out of completions deliverables within agreed timeframes, the collection and collation of asset data and issues resolution
- Work closely with the development, delivery and quality teams to develop management plans, documents, templates, registers, tool and reports to increase task efficiency awareness, governance and accountability
- Champion continuous improvement and identifies, develops, and implements processes and systems to support completions and defects management while improving compliance and efficiencies
- Timely reporting of performance and deliverables that support decision making and achieving success outcomes
- Effective communication with key stakeholders including development and delivery of presentations
In partnership with the project delivery teams, you’ll also ensure proactive management, leadership, and oversight of the following functions:
- Asset Data
- As-built drawing acceptance (DMS)
- Asset Acceptance
- Asset Management System updates
- Defect and fault management, including defect and fault rectification
- Practical & Final Completion applications
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management or Construction
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Completions, Quality or a similar field in construction
- Strong stakeholder management skills, especially working with a large and complex stakeholder
- Demonstrated critical thinking and experience working to tight timeframes
- Excellent communicator and influencer at all levels both written and verbal, and within different settings
- Driver of change who can coach and mentor diverse stakeholders
- Ability to analyse data to draw conclusions, write and present reports
