About the position:
As our Track Force Protection Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for the safeworking planning, implementation, control, and the ultimate responsibility of rail safety during track works. While working, your main focus will be to keep all Rail Safety Worker’s and the worksite safe from all rail traffic.
You’ll be exposed to different works within our network, playing a fundamental part in our business by maximising rail safety and time on tools, but minimising impact on our rail operations. Working for Metro will also give you the opportunity to develop and grow in your career in rail as we provide all opportunities for upskilling and learning through the Metro Academy.
We require you to have a minimum 3.2 Safeworking qualification to succeed in this role. This is a rostered position, working 8 on/6 off on rotating days and afternoons. Overtime will be available and encouraged at the business’ discretion.
Main duties include:

Complete and certify RSWHA’s, determining appropriate protection requirements for worksite/tasks.

Assess the track environment to plan access, egress and the approach for works.

Maintain communication and control of worksite protection personnel, supervisors, signallers, train controllers and drivers.

Identify task-based hazards, communicating these to worksite protection personnel.

Ensure worksite protection personnel are equipped with correct PPE.

Functional delivery of rail safety protection, complying to MTM Safeworking standards.

Perform risk assessments of processes, work practices, materials, suppliers and innovations to ensure work is delivered as efficiently and safely as possible.

Review/assess compliance of processes to standards and procedures under guidance.
About you:
-
Minimum 3.2 Safeworking qualification (including ASB and Enhanced Lookout modules) – essential.

Inner Suburban Unrestricted competency.

First Aid and CPR certified.

A minimum of 3 years' experience in rail/rail related industries.

Team player who works effectively in group environments.

Strong communication skills, in order to excel in high pressure situations.
