An exciting opportunity is available within Lloyds Banking Group. The Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join an innovative apprenticeship programme, designed to kick start your career in data. Job Description

What you’ll do

You’ll work within the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO), who are Lloyds Banking Group’s leaders and authorities in the delivery and support of large, complex change programmes, specialising in the implementation of cross-divisional and regulatory initiatives.

The varied GCOO portfolio includes regulatory change projects in areas such as Open Banking, exciting digital capability programmes such as Digital Workplace and critical risk-focused activities such as the Technology Resilience.


You’ll have an analytical mind with an ambition to develop this capability professionally, and a consistent record in delivering with a high attention to detail, in a timely fashion.

About the Programme

Starting in September / October 2022, you’ll be supported through your Level 4 apprenticeship – delivered by our trusted partner Firebrand Training – by your Line Manager, in work Buddy and Apprenticeship Learning Mentor. Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘off the job learning’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.

This learning and development will be supported by a structured training journey.

Please note – you’ll be required to be based in one of the locations listed on this vacancy and will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

As part of this role you’ll learn to…

  • Identify data for analysis based upon requirements

  • Manipulate, merge and link different data sets as required

  • Compile data in preparation for analysis

  • Compile data from multiple sources including: data bases, spreadsheets and reports

  • Interpret and apply the organisations data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities

  • Perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis

  • Schedule and automate queries

  • Use data mining tools to discover useful patterns in large data sets

  • Apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation

  • Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders making recommendations

  • Use data and commercial knowledge to extract insight from analysis

  • Communicate complex ideas simply through a strong commercial story

  • Use interesting and impactful data visualisations

  • Present results verbally and via written reports

Eligibility Criteria:

GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (or equivalent) or above

Or  

If you have not achieved GCSE Maths and English Grade C (or equivalent) or above, a commitment to undertake Functional Skills in Maths and English to bring you up to this level.

Starting salary:

  • Outside of London - £23,184

  • London - £30,132
