About the role

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from Project Engineers with large scale bulk earthworks experience to work on a 3&1 FIFO roster to the Pilbara, WA. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, a key focus of your role will be to coordinate on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time, quality and budget objectives safely.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the achievement of Laing O’Rourke’s safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe and un-environmentally conscious working practices and occurrences.
• Provide project engineering support to the construction teams to facilitate the construction process.
• Ongoing monitoring and reporting of work progress;
• Direct interface with the construction crews to collect data on information required for project status, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Support the site construction crews with developing and communicating work packages.
• Development and review of work packs.
• Assisting with technical queries.
• Provide direction and supervision for Site Engineers, as required.

You will have

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering along with construction contracting experience having worked as a Project Engineer for Tier 1 Construction Contractors.
• Experience working on large scale resources related bulk earthworks construction projects.
• A strong commercial acumen.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
• A collaborative approach with proven ability to work in a team.
• Strong problem solving, organisational and communication skills.
• A high attention to detail.
