Across Australia there are 56 Khub stores that provide customers in the regional communities low-cost access to best-selling Kmart items and brands across kids, clothing and home! To support this proposition, we are seeking a Category Manager with General Merchandise background who will manage and maintain a curated range for Khub Stores and optimise in-store product presentation that delivers a great experience for our customers!

This role is available on a 12month Fixed Term contract commencing March 2023.

As a Khub Category Manager (in General Merchandisel) working for Kmart you will:

  • Collobarate with merchandise and operations teams to deliver the Khub merchandise strategy that drives sales growth and value for our customer.
  • Understand your customer and their changing consumer needs and translate this insight to improve the product range at our Khub stores.
  • Develop a strong customer value proposition for the General Merchandise range.
  • Continuously improve in-store presentation standards by working with the visual merchandise, space, and operations teams
  • Analyse sales performance and trends and lead initiatives to ensure sales and profit targets are met.
  • Store visits may be required to help gain insights into customer behaviour and identify areas of opportunity to optimise.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

Worked in the General Merchandise industry (2-4 years) in either a mid-tier or big box format organisation.

  • Demonstrated ability in analysing financial results
  • Experience and knowledge of leveraging technology and platforms to improve efficiency
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present confidently across all levels of the business
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities whilst ensuring timelines are met
  • Strong stakeholder management, ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholder groups.
