The Green Economy Banking group aims at providing investment banking services, primarily M&A, as well as equity and debt capital markets products typically focusing on Green Economy companies with revenues of up to $3bn. Hence, the Green Economy Banking team’s primary objectives is to provide investment banking coverage services, whilst traditional banking services are also provided by team’s partners.

The J.P. Morgan’s Green Economy Banking group was launched in 2021 to support the development and growth of companies that are advancing decarbonization through innovative technologies in sectors including Renewable Energy, Efficiency Technology, Clean Mobility & EV Charging and Agriculture & Food Technology. The Green Economy team is part of a multi-faceted eco-system at J.P. Morgan that focuses broadly on the client coverage of companies taking an active role in the energy transition, whilst supporting J.P. Morgan’s commitment to building a more sustainable and inclusive economy including through the acceleration of the transition to low-carbon world.

The position is primarily geared to providing leadership to deal teams and accountability for pitch book preparation and investment banking transaction execution, while ensuring coordination among analysts, senior deal team members, and credit underwriting. As a member of the team, the position plays an integral part to help gain, manage and maintain client relationships within the Green Economy Banking industry.

As a member of the Green Economy Banking group, you will play a critical role in our business strategy and execution; the position also plays an integral part to help gain, manage and maintain client relationships within the Green Economy Banking industry. You will participate in the "full cycle" of an investment banking transaction execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. You will also play a leadership role in coordinating and working hand-in-hand with the US Green Economy Banking group, which will offer numerous opportunities to work on cross-border situations. Most importantly, the candidate will be highly enthusiastic about J.P. Morgan's mission and be driven and committed to its success.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a vital and accountable role in all aspects of executing investment banking transactions and maintaining strategic and capital markets dialogue with clients. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Daily project coordination, deal execution and client management
  • Detailed valuation analysis, including DCF analysis, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analysis
  • Detailed combination and other financial analysis
  • Preparation of presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials
  • Collaborate with credit underwriting team on analysis, structuring and documentation of credit requests
  • Build knowledge of the Green Economy eco-system in Europe and globally
  • Develop an understanding of the private and public investors actively investing in Green Economy companies
  • Take an active and leadership role in supporting client coverage
  • Interaction with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior members of the team

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong academic track-record
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills in financial analysis, credit and modelling
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage processes efficiently

  • European language skills, while not required, are desirable
