The Macro Investable Index business is a trading and structuring desk within Global Markets that designs, develops, produces and maintains indices linked to commodities, rates and fx; and hedges bespoke investment and financing solutions across the entire spectrum of Markets clients. The desk partners closely with sales desks in every region to offer best-in-class product knowledge and deal execution to JP Morgan clients.

The Macro Investable Index structuring team partners with our trading team, as well as the Global Markets Structuring – Investable Index Solutions team and our Global salesforce to structure, market and distribute Investable Indices across asset classes and across investment themes, primarily to Institutional Investors. The team is product focused, serving as the asset class experts on JPMorgan’s Index offering and is responsible for designing, developing and administering macro investable indices, including customized strategies and platform capabilities to meet clients’ investment goals.

Role and responsibilities

  • Stay up to date with investment themes, techniques and academic research in the macro (commodities, rates and fx) QIS space
  • Work with research, trading, and sales to design new investment strategies to fulfil our clients’ needs
  • Design, check the robustness of, and conduct sensitivity analysis for new ideas
  • Produce relevant analysis for trading for pricing and/or risk management
  • Bring the ideas from concepts to tradable products, balancing the requirements from trading, sales, clients, legal, QR and other involved parties
  • Be compliant with and participate in constantly improving (strengthening and streamlining) our governance framework
  • Maintain and improve our existing code base for index calculation
  • Support execution of transactions linked to our indices
  • Maintain the existing range of investable indices, ensuring all recurring governance and controls related tasks are complete
  • Participate in ad hoc client dialogue about new or existing transactions
  • Participate in regular performance commentary

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience within a markets related transactional role
  • Strong quantitative skills and intellectual curiosity. Programming experience is a must.
  • Team player with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, hardworking, flexible
  • Ability to run multiple projects in parallel, excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Bloomberg, Excel and Python
  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or Science. Masters degree a plus
  • European language knowledge a plus
