Background

International Equity Group (IEG) manages cira$100bn across Global, International (Developed Markets ex US), European and UK equity portfolios, as well as some specialist strategies such as REITs and Convertibles, for a range of sovereign, institutional, wholesale and retail clients from around the world. The Investment Specialist role is the link between portfolio managers, the broader investment management organisation and clients.

Key objectives for the role are:

  • Working hand-in-hand with investment teams to manage existing clients and win new business

  • Representing the International Equities platform on business related matters globally, including, but not limited to marketing, product development and sales/retention strategy

Some of the key responsibilities would involve but are not be limited to:

  • Maintaining & developing relationships between the investment desks and distribution teams

  • Maintaining & developing relationships with senior management, country heads, investment directors, sales, marketing and product development teams

  • Developing strategic relationships with clients

  • Partnering with the sales team to help grow the existing book of business

  • Active involvement in new product development and positioning

  • Monitor trends in the market and propose solutions in response to them

  • Work with marketing / communications teams to promote and support existing products

  • Project managing strategic initiatives

Requirements

The role will ideally suit someone who has experience of being both an Investment Specialist and has considerable equity and/ or convertibles market experience. This person would need to be able to establish immediate credibility with clients, the investment team and client teams.

Key requirements include:

  • Be located in London but have a willingness to travel extensively

  • Strong educational background, with a preference for CFA holders

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Show initiative and motivation around business growth opportunities

  • Direct investment/asset management experience a strong plus

  • European languages are highly valued
