The Role

Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit for an Automated Operations Coordinator.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Automated Operations and Transformation, the role holder will be tasked with coordinating and optimising our Automated Operations (AO) by overseeing both Remote Crane (RYC) Operators and Autonomous Truck (AT) activities, maintaining high standards in AO processes and procedures, whilst constantly striving to improve AO effectiveness.

Working closely with the Service Delivery Team the role holder will also assist in monitoring and producing reports to support the continuous development and performance in the AO function, alongside improving automated equipment systems and processes deployed within Port of Felixstowe Operations.

 Key Requirements

·         Focal point for all RYC and AT related operational activities

·         Deliver unambiguous safety leadership to your team, based on the HPUK Leadership Guide, ensuring the vision to tackle all issues and the department/shift safety plan is communicated, understood and embedded in the business following the correct policies and procedures

·         Deploying RYC Operators to tasks and/or training/support duties whilst managing shift changeovers and breaks to optimise performance and utilisation levels

·         Proactively monitor, evaluate, and address RYC and AT operational performance

·         Use Terminal Operations Systems to ensure adherence to SLAs and proactively identify opportunities to improve customer service

·         Provide coaching, mentoring and support interventions as appropriate to aid your teams’ personal growth and development

·         Identify and document any AO operational inefficiencies, proactively seeking opportunities for improvement, offering recommendations as appropriate

·         Ensure AO daily equipment checks are completed correctly and efficiently to ensure customer service requirements are met

 

This role is a 24/7 shift-based role following our standard 4 on / 4 off pattern working an overall average 42hr week including breaks.

 Who are we looking for?

Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:

Essential:

·         At least 2 years’ operational coordination and/or supervisory experience

·         Excellent IT skills with ability to use Windows based systems and MS Office

·         Lead by example and promote high standards; manage conduct and behaviour accordingly

·         Excellent problem solver with ability to use own initiative

·         Current and valid full UK Driving Licence (Manual)

Desirable:

·         IOSH Manging Safely (to be obtained within 6 months)

·         Experience of working with Automated Technologies
