HR Advisor – Recruitment

The Role

The Port of Felixstowe is one of the largest deep-water Ports in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit an experienced Recruitment Advisor on a permanent basis. You will work closely with the HR Service Centre Manager to deliver a comprehensive in-house recruitment service to the business.

You will work with hiring managers to develop advertising material to ensure enhanced access to market, advising on possible challenges and how to overcome these. As well as working as part of the HR Service Centre Team to ensure delivery of HR services to customers internally and externally.


Key Requirements

  • Work with hiring managers to proactively design and deliver selection processes to identify and recruit to meet business requirements.
  • Management and delivery of recruitment and selection processes using the ATS system.
  • Lead and coordinate recruitment campaigns for volume in-take, designing assessment centres and staged processes to ensure a smooth process supported by required business areas.
  • Work with line managers to ensure adverts are consistent whilst also tailored to appeal to the wider market.
  • Reduce recruitment spend by using internal recruitment capabilities and considered routes to market.
  • Delivery of the internal selection process, responding to queries and advising applicants and managers.
  • Undertake detailed, proactive workload planning for own areas of responsibility for both immediate and medium-term requirements.
  • Regularly and proactively review processes and technology/systems and recommend options for improvement.
  • Manage projects as required, working closely with other team members to ensure delivery of all targets.
  • Undertake a range of reporting and statistical analysis to inform and support HR & recruitment activity.
  • Proactively support and educate the business in HR activity
  • Perform coaching, interviews and feedback sessions in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Support wider HR initiatives for engaging with the external employment market

Who are we looking for?

Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR function or proven experience in a recruitment function.
  • Advanced administration skills.
  • Minimum of four GCSE’s (grade C and above) or equivalent in English Language and Maths.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with numbers, data, detail and processes.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with workloads in a high volume, complex and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication and stake holder management skills.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of employment law, employment contracts and the main employee lifecycle processes (e.g. recruitment, transfers, leavers etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge of Collective Agreements & HR policies.
  • Relevant recruitment assessment and testing methodologies where required.
