Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.
St Ives Gold Mine is located 20km south-east of Kambalda and approximately 80 km south of Kalgoorlie. It is comprised of both open pit and underground operations and produces over 350,000 ounces of gold per annum.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Senior: Geology Assistant, your role will be assisting the geological team to facilitate optimum production in core yeard operations for both surface and underground drilling programs. Additionally, there are some field based tasks during drill program downtime.

This role is offered as residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie on an 8 days on 6 days off roster.

About the role:
Working in the core shed performing the following duties:
-
Processing Diamond drill core including orientation, metre marking, RQD, recovery, core photography, cutting/sampling;

Follow Gold Fields QAQC protocols;
-
Accurate data entry of geological information daily using Acquire and other software;
-
Preparing samples to be dispatched to the assay laboratory;

Rehabilitation of drill sites.
About you:

You will hold a valid manual driver’s license

Ideally you will hold a forklift ticket or be willing to obtain

Possess a Senior First Aid Certificate

Like to work competently in an outdoor role in remote environments during drill program downtime
