We are looking for a humble and enthusiastic developer who will push the boundaries on engineering forward-thinking solutions and contribute to crafting our new future. As a Software Development Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with other experienced software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, design and develop new services and software solutions, and build metrics to ensure high-quality results. You will have the opportunity to work with business partners, leadership and other software developers, UX designers, influence and drive product vision and lead the design of our systems. Bring your skills, experience, enthusiasm, and passion to innovate and produce results as we continuously improve and deliver the future of extraordinary customer experiences across EPS white label partner sites.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with team members to co-develop and solve problems.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area.
  • Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.
  • Apply software design principles, data structures and/or design patterns and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions.
  • Apply knowledge of database design to tackle data requirements.
  • Help coordinate stakeholder input and collaboration efforts when developing solutions to issues.
  • Think broadly and understand how, why and when policies/processes are standardized and when they differ across the organization.
  • Execute tasks and/or provides data to support the implementation of holistic solutions that forge linkages between structure, people, process and technology.
  • Apply formal training methods to the current workload and feel comfortable challenging authority/the status quo.
  • Report clearly on current work status. You ask challenging questions when empowered to do so.

Who you are:

  • BS and/or MS in Computer Science with 2-4 years or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional coding skills in Java / Scala / Kotlin and proficiency with SQL
  • Hands-on experience with technologies like Spring, REST APIs, JSON, JavaScript, Angular JS, JQuery, CSS, HTML
  • Technical proficiency in developing high-performance, scalable web applications in distributed architecture SOA
  • Exposure to Design Patterns, data structure and algorithms
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with automated testing, including unit, functional, and integration testing
  • Ability to work in a diverse organization with global, decentralized teams working across multiple locations.
  • Experience and knowledge around Cloud technologies like AWS is a huge plus.
  • A great teammate who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative working environment imbibing a growth mentality.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $103,000.00 to $144,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $165,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
