In this Talent Acquisition leadership role, you will drive change, contribute to and influence the future of the wider Global Talent Acquisition team and Expedia Group’s overall strategy. You will be working collaboratively with external partners and internal teams to drive key talent recruitment outcomes. You will foster external partnerships to enhance Expedia Group’s internship, graduate, apprenticeship, and return-ship programs, and increase university/college engagement, career fairs and community presence. You will develop strategies to increase brand awareness via social media, job board presence and other recruitment platforms. Additionally, you will partner with internal partners including our marketing and communications teams to attract top talent to the Expedia Group, while remaining current on key internal and external trends that impact the market for talent.

In addition to attracting top talent, this role will also lead end-to-end experience and delivering best-in-class programs for all emerging talent cohorts. This will involve building robust and effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure onboarding, learning, development, and program delivery is aligned to business needs and meets key metrics for the organization.

Your impact in this role will be measured by both qualitative and quantitative evidence that Expedia Group has created strong external partnerships (e.g., select colleges and universities), unlocked new pipelines for talent from non-traditional sources, increased visibility and access to candidates from diverse backgrounds.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and launch a creative Emerging Talent pipeline strategy that aligns with Expedia Group’s overarching strategy and meets the enterprise-wide critical and hard-to-fill talent needs.

  • Maintain key metrics that demonstrate the team’s outcomes and impact to the Expedia Group talent acquisition plan, as well as inform strategy and decision making on Expedia Group’s participation with future events and programs.

  • Partner with peers, People Leaders, and Business Leaders to understand the organizational and departmental needs and goals.

  • Develop and foster relationships with vendors and partners through appropriate management and engagement to ensure the Expedia Group optimizes service, support, and system functionality.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Finance, to validate funding for emerging talent hiring and programs, oversee global Emerging Talent budget strategy and governance, ensuring timely payments and budget control.

  • Ensure we are remaining compliant with all internal controls and local laws and regulatory requirements through all functions, activities and teams.

  • Ensure the team is staffed, structured, and inspired to deliver impactful recruiting and program experience strategies, with a high touch candidate and manager experience.

  • Provide effective career development, coaching, and mentorship for the global team.

Who you are:

  • A strategic global talent leader, experienced leading, coaching, and inspiring people.

  • Must have deep creative design experience, ability to flex between strategy and execution and a strong passion for breaking barriers and creating access for underrepresented communities.

  • As a disrupter and innovator, you will find and collaborate on better ways of getting things done – process optimization, infrastructure and technologies, organization design, data and insights, hiring channels, employer branding, candidate experiences.

  • You are agile in the testing of new ideas, bringing a product management and user led design mindset.

  • Passion for people leadership, driving top performance and experience managing a globally dispersed team, with an understanding of global talent market nuances and practices.

  • A Storyteller: able to build and articulate a vision and translating it into an executable strategy, leading with data and insights. Skilled thought-leader, confident and successful at influencing others to act.

  • An incredibly strong operator on a global scale, across globally dispersed teams, leveraging technology and change management to continuously optimize efficiencies and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

  • Strong analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills, with the drive to cut through complexity and turn high-level business requirements and opportunities into specific initiatives. Translate metrics, research, and external and internal trends into creative practices, to drive decision making and measure success.

  • Experienced operating in a highly matrixed organization, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast-paced environment.
