Our mission will be enabled further by this Vice President who will lead the InsurTechline of business inclusive of product, engineering and supply, and contributeto the broader consumerproduct strategy andshopping, booking & post bookingexperience along with key partners across our Product & Technology division.

Our InsurTech business seeks to provide confidence to book, provide peace of mind, and protect when the unexpected happens for our travelers globally through a portfolio of innovative customer facing InsurTech and FinTech products and experiences. We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and strategic self-starter to lead the end-to-end InsurTech strategy and portfolio. Your deep understanding of our travelers, product development, technology, and business value drivers will accelerate near and long-term EG performance. Your efforts will create delightful customer experiences, drive significant impact to the company’s bottom line, and enhance the value of our brands and partnerships globally.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and drive the end-to-end strategy/supply/product/tech capabilities and team necessary to deliver our line of insurance and assurance products cross all EG brands and customer segments. InsurTech accounts for XX% of EG transactions and contributes $XXM GP to the bottom line.

  • P&L management of the full business including product pricing, supplier cost, claims risk management, organizational budget, and LoB specific financial forecasting and planning.

  • Define key areas of opportunity within the InsurTech space and orchestrate critical initiatives to deliver value to Expedia’s bottom line.

  • Manage supply partnerships/contracts to deliver product/commercial agenda; lead negotiations that deliver commercial goals and sustainable partnerships; manage relationships and business operations with third party providers.

  • Build an industry leading set of Insurance and Assurance offerings to provide travelers confidence to book peace of mind, and protection when the unexpected happens and monetize the EG platform.

  • Develop and scale the domain on the EG platform offering a portfolio of FinTech products to travelers globally via standard APIs; build and maintain supplier connectivity; integrate machine learning capabilities to offer dynamically generated insurance policies.

  • Pricing for insurance and assurance products (in partnership with insurance partners where required); claims risk management (including reserve calculations and management for in-house products).

  • Build & lead a global organization of top talent driving innovation

  • Gain the support and advocacy from senior leaders to implement significant system changes that deliver material traveler and business value; skillfully anticipate potential dependencies, interconnections and/or conflicts of interest and coach team to identify these.

  • Actively develop and evolve product culture with other product and business leaders and identify platform opportunities.

  • Support the team and strategically nurture relationships with key decision-makers by helping them successfully navigate through critical business changes and address complex issues in their businesses, including decision-makers in one's own team.

  • Promote a “one-team” mentality that encourages ownership and collaboration around technical and traveler problems irrespective of organizational boundaries.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • Strong leadership experience leading teams large, complex and multi-regional teams demonstrating exceptional skills in enabling effective teams and developing talent.

  • Demonstrates experience strategically nurturing relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Serves as a specialist in the industry with hands-on-knowledge of the travel or insurance and technology industry (preferably).

  • Strong experience in resource planning and optimization able to evaluate leadership level requirements across the business unit to support near and long-term goals.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $305,500 to $428,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $489,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
