Our Exciting Opportunity:

This position is in the Strategic Competence Unit (SCU) within the Service Area Network Design and Optimization (SA NDO) in Ericsson. The SCU is a global service delivery expertise group located in a few countries. You will be working with ground-breaking solutions and technology (e.g. 5G, RAN Virtualization, ML/AI, Critical IoT, VoLTE/NR, Network Slicing and vDU / vCU Connectivity). You can expect challenging projects with many diverse global customers. In this role, as a specialist and recognised expert in the field of Network Design and Optimisation, where no two projects are the same.

You are expected to contribute by working in an exciting and dynamic multicultural and global environment for Network Design and Optimization Services. Activities will include both Pre and Post Sales engagements and involvement in enhancing and developing our Service Portfolio.

In this role, you would:

  • Participation in presales and delivery of services in the area of Network Design and Optimization (NDO) with focus towards RAN Transport and Connectivity
  • Providing Network Connectivity Solutions for the newest technologies available in the Radio Access Network (RAN) space taking End-2-End into consideration
  • Leading discussion and activities with our Global Customer Base (both Technical and C level Senior Management) by understanding their business needs and requirements
  • Developing and presenting Solutions that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Designing solutions that are scalable, robust and efficient whilst fulfilling operators’ technical and business requirements
  • Supporting product and delivery teams ensuring our solutions are developed and deployed to meet objectives
  • Managing customer expectations and fulfilment of customer solutions within agreed time, scope and cost
  • Engaging business partners in understanding potential technologies capabilities
  • Providing innovative ideas and suggestions to Product Management to further improve/add/modify our NDO service portfolio and technology suite
  • Actively participating in knowledge transfer and experience sharing
  • Working to strict time schedules

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, Physics or IT
  • Minimum of 14 years relevant experience in ICT Industry with experience in both service delivery and pre-sales
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
  • RAN IP Transport (RAN IP Connectivity) for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G network scenarios including Design of Ericsson Baseband Equipment
  • E2E Quality of Service (QoS) Solutions and Design
  • IP Security (IPSec) Solutions and Designs in RAN Environment
  • IP MPLS, Ericsson Router 6000 Solutions and Designs
  • RAN Synchronisation Solutions and Designs
  • Front-Haul and Back-Haul Solutions and Designs
  • Network Sharing Solutions and Designs (MO-RAN / MO-CN)
  • End to End knowledge of services, covering RAN, Transport and Packet Core domains
  • Ability to understand customer business objectives and link them to improvements in Network Performance and End User Experience as well as communicate, present and influence the C-Level by knowing the impact of any action/service to their business
  • Knowledge of Virtualization Platforms (e.g. RedHat) and Container Orchestration Systems (e.g. Kubernetes) will be an added advantage
  • Experience from Microwave (Short-haul / Long-haul) and Optical (DWDM) Solutions will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Ericsson RAN, Router 6000, Transmission equipment, Transport / IP and Security Solutions including features and parameters as well as knowledge of third-party Router, Transmission and Security equipment would be an advantage

  • Position is based in Sydney or Melbourne. Applicant must be able to travel globally as per business requirements
