About the role

Edinburgh Airport's Digital Team is a small, distributed team focused on using technology to create great experiences that help make travel better and to optimise online revenue. Our products include passenger-facing websites, internal tools to help operations run smoothly and efficiently, and our AirportX eCommerce platform, which we are selling to other airports globally as software as a service (SaaS). To help us achieve our goals, we’re expanding the team.

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Digital Business Development Manager to drive external commercial relationships and contribute to our team's growth. Collaborating closely with product, engineering, and commercial teams, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market reach and revenue streams.

Salary for the role is between £48,509 - £56,745 depending on experience
What you'll be doing
Cultivate and manage external commercial relationships, including AirportX customers, parking consolidators, and trade sales.
Represent AirportX at events, conferences and on social media.
Proactively build and manage a pipeline of prospects for AirportX, overseeing the sales process from lead generation to conversion.
Navigate airport tender processes.
Strategise and implement the consolidator strategy.
Develop robust trade relationships with travel agents, local businesses, and public sectors to enhance digital partnerships.
Provide valuable insights to shape the development pipeline and future digital products for EDI, existing customers, and prospective clients.
What we're looking for
To apply for this role, you'll need
  • Proven track record in managing commercial relationships, driving revenue growth through partnerships, and closing sales deals.
  • Passion for digital solutions, with a penchant for exploring new technologies to enhance customer experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable team player willing to contribute across functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Patience and adaptability in navigating processes and walking airports through the benefits of AirportX.

Bonus points

  • Experience in account management within the digital and travel sectors.
  • Familiarity with product and software engineering teams, understanding software development life cycles.
  • SaaS experience.
