About the role

We’re looking for a Commercial Analyst to support revenue growth and passenger experience within our Commercial team. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced and varied role where you will use your analytical insight to inform commercial decision-making.

The Commercial Analyst will provide analytical support across the airport’s non-aeronautical revenue streams. The role will be principally aligned to the Commercial Services team, which looks after contractual relationships across services including car rental, bus, tram, taxi and advertising. The role holder will also get exposure to other key revenue streams across retail, property and car parking.

As Commercial Analyst, you will be all over the numbers, providing accurate and insightful reporting, forecasts and analysis that will help the team make important commercial decisions.

About the Commercial Team

Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s busiest airport, with more than 14 million passengers expected to pass through in 2023. Our Commercial team drives revenue growth across varied categories, working collaboratively to manage the pipeline and performance of a number of high value contracts. The team works alongside business partners to ensure our passengers have a seamless experience while they are in the airport, as well as getting to and from the airport.

What you'll be doing
  • Performance reporting: regular reporting of Commercial Services performance, providing insight into key performance drivers
  • Budget and five-year plan: own the annual budget and five-year planning processes, working with the Head of Commercial Services to agree key assumptions and collaborating closely with the Finance team to produce outputs in line with agreed timelines
  • Rolling forecast: create and maintain a live rolling forecast of full-year revenue outturn based on current run-rate
  • Commercial bid analysis: support the Business Development Manager(s) through competitive bid processes, providing insight and analysis to inform decision-making
  • Surface access dashboard: develop and maintain the airport’s surface access dashboard, working closely with the Car Parking team to ensure a clear understanding of the modes of transport our passengers use to get to and from the airport
  • Billing support: collaborate with the Finance team to ensure billing of business partners is on time and accurate
  • Continuous improvement: proactively identify new tools and resources to enhance analytical insight and support performance management
What we're looking for
  • You have a degree in an analytical subject (e.g. Maths, Economics, Statistics, Accounting & Finance)
  • You have hands-on experience of an analytical role within a commercial environment
  • You have are highly numerate, comfortable interrogating numbers and data
  • You have advanced Microsoft Excels skills, with demonstrated experience creating and maintaining Excel models
  • You have strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, with the ability to present complex numerical information in a way that is easy to digest
  • You are a natural communicator, with good written and oral presentation skills
  • You thrive working in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
