We're looking for a number of roles to join us at Edinburgh Airport, supporting the Airside Support Unit (ASU) and Passenger with Reduced Mobility (PRM) teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide customers with an excellent coaching service.
  • Carry out trolley recirculation as required.
  • Carry out Airside/Landside sweeping to meet H&S and CAA Requirements.
  • Ensure SLA, SOP’s, CEN, CED and TBT are read and understood.
  • Carry out snow clearing duties during winter operations.
  • To be able to act on their own initiative and prioritise their work; monitor and liaise with ground handling agents and other Airport users to provide an efficient coaching operation.
  • Adopt a flexible, multi skilled working practice in accordance with daily operational requirements i.e. during each shift would be expected to move between tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety Policies, taking personal responsibility for employing safe working practices to minimise risk to self, work colleagues and customers.
  • To be fully conversant with all Emergency and Evacuation procedures.
  • The post holder will need to satisfy the medical standards necessary to obtain an Airside Driving permit as well as Airside training to gain the licence required for Airside driving duties.
  • Be able to complete on line E-Learning and additional training to meet the needs of the business as and when required and within the parameters of the role.
  • Ensure any faults, issues or near misses are reported through the community App or Team Leader.
  • The ability to be trained and confident in driving the multiple fleet within the department.

What we're looking for

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Sound interpersonal skills.
  • It is advantageous for applicants to have an HGV licence (Groups C & C1E) and a PCV licence.
  • Applicants most hold at least one of the relevant licences and be able to work towards gaining all licences.
  • Basic IT skills (including I-auditor, E-Learning, intrantet and not exclusive)
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Assist when required with allocation of coaching, sweeping, ambulift jobs, as and when required, with the aid of the IT systems in place.

Framework and boundaries

  • Health and Safety is a priority at all times.
  • Work is undertaken in outside areas regardless of prevailing weather conditions.
  • The working environment is varied but will include a high degree of customer contact. This will require a smart appearance and a polite and professional approach at all times.
  • Uniform and PPE to be worn at all times when appropriate.
  • Ensure no miss use of ID and driving permit, within the boundaries of the Airside pass procedure.
  • Ensure any issues with your DVLA driving licence is flagged up to the relevant people, in this case your Team Manager.
