What will your typical day look like?

Based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, the Resource Management Consultant will provide support to the Resource Manager and will be responsible for the day-to day administrative functions associated with resource management such as scheduling updates, extracting data to prepare reports for the business unit and other ad hoc tasks. The position will require a strong attention to detail, effective time management and solid stakeholder management. You will also be responsible for the following:

Workforce Allocation and Reporting:

  • Daily co-ordination of the resource scheduling email inbox, responding to queries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to leadership and the team. This includes but is not limited to weekly schedule reports, variance, utilisation and adhoc reporting.
  • Confirm staff availability, follow up on actual vs forecast variances and make schedule updates.

Forecast Management:

  • Maintain STAFFIT (Deloitte Global Consulting Scheduling System) as a live and accurate database, reflecting updates to schedules, both accurately and efficiently.
  • Managing and updating data on new starters, transfers and departures.

People Expertise:

  • Continuous communication with practitioners and management regarding assignments, future deployment, and the maintenance of practitioner data.
  • Establishes and builds effective relationships with key team members within RM, actively seeking information where needed.
  • Work with the offshore team and other Consultants in managing workflow.
  • Oversee completion of practitioner’s resumes and the reminders for updating of resumes on a regular basis.
  • Collaborates with Talent, Finance and Talent Acquisition when required, and escalates issues to more senior members of RM Team as appropriate and in a timely manner.

Our key responsibility is to ensure the optimal resourcing solution for the client, the business and the individual in a timely and commercially sound manner. The Resource Management team manages the allocation of practitioners on client work, influences capability development for individuals across the business while also providing strategic recommendations and resourcing insights to the leadership team. We work in collaboration with other key partners such as Talent, Finance and Talent Acquisition.

You will be someone with a genuine interest in both the human and business side of resource management. You will proactively work with the business to manage demand, supply and capability: allocating staff on engagements, identifying the most suitable person (skills and career aspirations) for the engagements as well as focusing on profitability and client service delivery.

You will be responsible for developing strong client relationships, ensuring client collaboration, teamwork and optimal communications, in order to deliver outstanding results.

You will additionally have the following:

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships; awareness and appropriate discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential material; and ability to work in a fast-paced environment on several simultaneous tasks and projects, prioritising as needed (time management)
  • Proactive and positive attitude coupled with energy, motivation and enthusiasm; always seeking to gain knowledge and understanding of the clients and business
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in following systems and procedures; solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and strong ability in Excel (especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables), Microsoft Office, and database management
  • Highly motivated team player, and is focused on developing confidence in building relationships; starts to take ownership of tasks until their completion; and good humour and ability to withstand stress
