Production Technician- PNS (Product of National Significance)
Job Description
CSL Seqirus is hiring for a Product Technician – PNS (Product of National Significance) in our Q Fever manufacturing department at the Broadmeadows site.
The Product Technician will support and participate the production of and Q Fever Vaccines in accordance with process specifications, cGMP and Seqirus Quality Management Systems.
Where required the role may also support and participate in the production of Antivenoms and Antitoxins (Antisera) at CSL Seqirus’ Parkville site.
This role will be a morning shift role (8 am-3:51 pm). Some overtime is expected.
Please note: This will be a fixed term (24 Months) opportunity.
The Role:
- Complete all tasks according to GMP and Seqirus’s Quality Management System.
- Prepare equipment used in the Q Fever. This includes bottles, fittings, filters etc. This task will include using automated and manual washing equipment, integrity testing of bottles and filters, and using autoclaves to sterilise equipment.
- Formulate buffers / solutions associated with the processes. This will include using load cells, balances, pH meters, stirrer bases and controllers. The process also requires using filters and performing sterile filtration and sampling activities.
- Perform Q Fever processing. This includes using manual and automated processing techniques. Interfacing with computers to utilize processing equipment is required. The process requires accurate documentation annotation using Batch Process Sheets and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Performing calculations and verifying critical process parameters is a critical function.
- Production of Q Fever Antigen. This will include the candling, inoculation and harvesting of fertile chicken eggs and the inactivation and processing of yolk sac material, utilising aseptic processing techniques. The process requires accurate documentation annotation using Batch Process Sheets and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Performing calculations, verifying critical process parameters and co-ordinating activities for Antigen production is a major component of the task. Technicians will also be responsible for the submission of test samples to QC at CSL Seqirus’ Parkville site according to QC protocols.
To be suitable for this position you will have the following:
- Good communicator and have a proactive attitude
- Experience in Aseptic gowning and aseptic processing techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge of GxP and Quality Management Systems
- Be flexible with shift times and adaptable to change
- A satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy must be met
- Experience working to timelines and tight schedules
