The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commencing in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
The project is seeking applications from a passionate and professional Quality Assurance Manager to join this new major project in Sydney. Based in Mascot and reporting the M&E Manager based within the Mechanical and Electrical Team, the role will be responsible for proactively facilitating, implementing QA documentation and systems, internal & external audit, quality performance monitoring, corrective and preventative action.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and establish quality processes and audit schedule
- Establish and manage Construction and Commissioning Inspection & Test database
- Evaluate and inspect major suppliers and subcontractors quality systems, processes and product
- Identify, report and investigate the cause of non-conforming work
- Undertake and report audits in accordance with the audit schedule
- Review proposed correction and corrective action to address non-conformance and audit findings
- Review compliance records and close out work lots
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the project quality management system, processes, quality performance and resolve quality issues
- Report and provide metrics on Construction and Commissioning documentation completion
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in QA – preferably Advanced Diploma or higher
- Auditing Qualification preferable
- Experience working within previous Tunnelling Projects
- Considerable experience in construction or engineering sectors
- Well-developed people management skills that encourages staff to perform at optimum levels without compromising on standards
- A dynamic and energetic personality who flourishes when working as a team member and has no difficulty in working autonomously.
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships within teams and with individuals.
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
