Meaningful Work From Day OneSupport and maintain a wide range of IT systems and infrastructure used by a workforce of ~700 in Lynchburg at Jack Daniel Distillery, Bottling, multiple Marketing locations, Barrel Distribution, and Employee Credit Union.
Handle the day-to-day operations of an IT Support Services Help Desk, solving hardware, software, and networking support issues. This position will assist in on-site support and maintenance under the direction of the Manager, Information Systems.
Install and configure personal computers and their peripherals. Provide Level 1/2 hardware and software support at Jack Daniel - Lynchburg. Central source of help to users for computing questions. Support IT related systems and equipment such as network infrastructure, printers, cell phones, copiers, and VOIP telephones. Provide support and assistance in the use of SAP and other corporate systems.
What You Can Expect
Deploy and configure company standard hardware (desktops, laptops, copiers/printers, VOIP desk phones, cell phones, networking gear, conference room A/V equipment, etc.) and software (several versions of Windows, MS Office, Google’s Suite, SAP, AutoCAD, etc.). Coordinate and schedule migration of users to new hardware on a timely basis per the lease schedule of laptops, desktops, and other devices. Maintain documented inventory of deployed devices using the BF Technology Asset system. Ongoing support for user hardware and software needs. Repair existing hardware or coordinate repairs with vendors. Assist with ongoing software needs and system access. Assist entire workforce with Workday access, often on a variety of personal mobile devices, including hourly users who sometimes have limited technical skills. Support networking infrastructure hardware, wireless, and cabling systems. Repair copper and fiber issues when possible, terminate RJ-45 connectors, clean fiber connections. Maintain documentation and labeling of components/cabling. Support other miscellaneous systems/hardware including, but not limited to: Retail POS systems – PC based registers, receipt and ticket printers, credit card processing devices, ID verification, Ruggedized WMS computing devices and systems in production areas, Facility access control and security camera monitoring, Employee timeclocks, Fuel dispensing system, Inventory system for IT spare parts and hardware. Configure and maintain device network settings, primarily using DHCP and SCCM.
We Are Looking For People Who
Have at least an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Computer Science or similar, and 2+ years experience or 3+ years help desk/systems related experience and related technical education/certifications. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Gmail, Google Drive, G Suite, and other Google applications. Demonstrated ability to work with IP addressing using DHCP, DOS commands, and other methods as part of device configuration and use on a network. Utilize automated tools or manually transfer user files to new computers/cell phones and reimage computers when necessary. Strong knowledge of personal computer hardware. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective relationship with people at all levels including internal and external personnel. Demonstrated written communication skills. Ability to lift and deploy equipment weighing 50 pounds.
