Brisbane Airport Corporation are seeking TWO talented Undergraduate Engineers to join us for a minimum 12 month contract!

1st opportunity:
Reporting to our Civil Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of engineering support services to our friendly and collaborative Civil Maintenance team, undertaking regular site inspections on airport land, ensuring alignment to project plans and broader strategic goals, exposing you to an interesting and diverse environment.

2nd opportunity: Reporting to our Principal Engineer - Civil, you will be responsible for the provision of engineering support services to our broader Development & Delivery team. With up to 200 projects in the pipeline on airport land, this opportunity will expose you to projects of all types and no two days will be the same.

You will be working with our friendly engineering teams, assisting the development and update of Brisbane Airport Design Guidelines and Standard Engineering Drawings enabling the project delivery.

These positions are 12 month fixed term contracts, working 2 or 3 days per week to start in early 2025. There is the opportunity to work more hours in your holiday breaks.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Support engineering activities across the Civil Maintenance and Development & Delivery teams
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement and report opportunities to management for consideration, executing any agreed actions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including internal teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions with innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Provide project support to various team members as needed, including:
  • Assist in the design and planning and delivery of airport infrastructure maintenance and capital projects.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to collect data for project planning and assessment of asset condition
  • Assist the development and update of Design Guidelines and Engineering Drawings
  • Prepare works specifications, and reports under the guidance of Facilities Team Engineers.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting including
  • Analyse engineering data and create detailed reports.
  • Support the team in the preparation of project documentation and presentations.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and maintenance budget forecasts

Experience and Qualifications
Essential

  • Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field, ideally undertaking 2nd, 3rd or 4th year studies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, design, and construction processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desirable
  • Use of engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS mapping or similar.
  • Class C Open Driver’s Licence
