About the Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Senior Health & Safety Business Partner to join our HSE division!

The primary focus of this role is to drive, facilitate and implement our strategic safety priorities across Boral’s Supply Chain & Logistics operations. As a senior member of our team, you will engage with key leaders to identify, coordinate and educate on risk reduction, improvement and assurance activities. You will have the opportunity to revamp and restructure our critical risk profile and restructure our systems to enable greater effectiveness and efficiencies.

This opportunity is well suited to a Supply Chain and Logistics expert with strong working knowledge of current WH&S and industry specific legislation and regulations. Your passion for safety and improvement, coupled with your versatility in partnering with a variety of stakeholders will contribute to your success in this role.

Duties

You will have responsibility for a range of high priority duties including:

  • Providing support and guidance to operational leaders in managing their site risk registers and relevant Health and Safety Management Plans.
  • Supporting and coaching operational managers on an in-depth knowledge of the risk management framework applicable to allocated sites and report on the status of identified controls associated with this framework.
  • Working with respective Operations Managers and site management teams to understand and manage the site/s risk profile; verify critical control implementation; and identify and coordinate risk reduction, improvement and assurance activities.
  • Supporting the team in leading the implementation of the Boral HSE assurance plan through undertaking assurance checks to verify that obligations within the Safety Management Systems are met, and where gaps are identified, ensure an action plan is developed in consultation with site leaders and rolled out within appropriate timeframes.
  • Supporting operations leaders with H&S systems and reporting requirements to facilitate learning and all respective compliance requirements.
  • Leading, enabling and coaching operational managers with the overall effectiveness of workplace operational H&S risk processes and management.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive operational experience in a HSE leadership role within the Supply Chain and Logistics industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WH&S legislation, Rail Safety National Law and Heavy Vehicle National Law
  • Exceptional business partnering skills with a focus on enabling and empowering our leaders to achieve key safety outcomes
  • High level capability to undertake complex risk assessments at a site and Business Unit level.
  • Relevant tertiary H&S qualification preferred
