About the Opportunity

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Hygienist to join our national HSE team. This role is responsible for driving Boral’s national hygiene and health surveillance program by providing technical advice to our leaders, ensuring compliance with Boral policies and regulations, and applying your expert knowledge towards continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Health & Wellbeing, you will have responsibility for a range of high priority business opportunities including:

  • Partnering effectively with Product Line business leaders, Heads of HSE, and HSE Business Partners to enable agreed occupational hygiene outcomes for the Region.
  • Educating and training stakeholders across all levels of Boral in their due diligence duties under relevant legislations.
  • Timely completion of Assurance Audits in line with the Audit and Assurance Program.
  • Coordinating health hazard control compliance audits across the Region in accordance with the schedule and ensuring corrective actions are tracked effectively and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the collection, management, and reporting of occupational hygiene monitoring data within the relevant SEQuence modules, and Regulators as required.
  • Facilitating the planning and implementation of the occupational hygiene monitoring program.
  • Managing/assisting regional Occupational Hygiene Co-ordinators in delivering on their role in line with Boral’s Occupational Hygiene Program.
  • Assisting in development and review of the National HSE Strategy and Product Line action plans.

This is a permanent, full-time position which can be primarily located at North Ryde NSW or Kelvin Grove QLD. To support the geographic range this position will cover, candidates with flexibility to travel to our sites are encouraged to apply. About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Occupational Hygienist, ideally within a heavy industry or construction.
  • Full membership of Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH).
  • Certified Occupational Hygienist with AIOH or with other international Occupational Hygiene body or working towards certification.
  • Proven track record in applying occupational hygiene practice principles to improve health hazard management in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of Statutory requirements relating to Occupational Hygiene monitoring, reporting and record retention.
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills to facilitate the provision of information and training to various business units.
  • Experience in working with data management and reporting software platforms.
  • Drivers Licence
