Boral Quarries is Australia's leading quarry operator with over 100 metropolitan and country quarries, sand pit and gravel operations producing concrete aggregates, asphalt and sealing aggregates, crushed rock, sands and gravels, pavement materials and base and sub-base for road, civil and site works.
About the Opportunity
Boral is actively seeking a driven Quarry Manager to oversee our Johns River Quarry. Reporting to the Country Operations Manager, this role is responsible for leading all functionalities of the Quarry, specifically focusing on safety, environment and quality control, operational and financial sustainability and people management.
With an uncompromising commitment to safety, the successful candidate must have a genuine interest in the day to day management and challenges of running a Quarry operation, including the ultimate responsibility for safety performance, production targets, quality control, customer liaison and LEAN implementation. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing financial outcomes and achieving set budgets and targets.
This is a permanent opportunity offering working days of Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be supported by a dedicated Quarry Supervisor and a team of Operators.
About You
To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate:
- Proven experience supervising a Quarry or Mining operations
- Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
- Appropriate Quarry management qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications are highly regarded
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders
- Experience developing and managing budgets including controlling expenditure and costs will be highly regarded
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing will be highly regarded
- High levels of resilience and a determination to deliver successful outcomes
- Excellent people management and mentoring skills
