Credit Manager - BOQ Specialist

About the Role
You will support the Senior Manager to ensure the credit risk accepted by the bank is of an appropriate standard, structure and compliant with credit policy. Your responsibilities will also include a coaching and mentoring function by way of promoting a prudent credit culture to network colleagues, balanced with a proactive approach to facilitate a positive business-gathering environment.
Your responsibility includes:
- Maintaining the BOQS loan portfolio at an acceptable level of risk quality by way of decisioning / structuring and coaching outputs
- Identification of industry/economic trends and consequent provision of recommendations to the Retail Credit Risk Policy Team for review of policy or new policy initiatives to compliment BOQ’s growth and risk strategies
- Coaching and mentoring sales and operations teams to improve risk assessment and origination skills and facilitate remediation.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following skills:
- Proven experience as a Credit Manager with an understanding of profiling the risk appetite for self employed individuals
- Experience holding a Delegated Lending Authority in residential lending
- Excellent knowledge of Responsible Lending guidelines and other financial services related legislation
- Exposure to the medical space will be highly regarded
- A clear, concise communication style with the ability to explain and articulate credit decisions
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Outcome orientated with a customer centric mindset.
