BOQ Finance NZ delivers asset finance solutions to the SME, commercial and corporate markets predominately through a range of Intermediaries. BOQ Finance has been operating in New Zealand for over 20 years and has recently experienced solid business growth, through our third party intermediary partnerships across Asset Finance, which has resulted in this new opportunity being created.
About the role:
The purpose of this position is to support the Senior Business Development Manager and the Head of Structured Finance to achieve agreed new business targets, portfolio growth and profitability objectives for the Structured and Asset Finance product portfolio in NZ. This will be achieved through establishing and building successful, long term relationships with our third party intermediary network. The role will incorporate delivery of process & product development, training & implementation, credit reviews and transaction workshopping which together will provide an exceptional customer experience that exceeds our client’s expectations.
Specifically you will be responsible for the following:
- Achieve sales quotas
- To identify sales opportunities with new customers introduced via third party Intermediary channels
- Maintain a pipeline of new business volume targets across New Zealand
- Manage the development & maintenance of relationships with new customers
- Promote BOQ Finance as a high quality provider of structured finance and other financial products
- Develop Sales Plans for the allocated territory
- Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts and report updates.
- Integrate and streamline application, settlement, account management processes
- Ensure continuous improvement in the efficiency of the business through recommending and implementing system and process enhancements
- Work with and educate intermediaries empowering them to proactively position BOQ Finance to their customers
- Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction through the timely provision of excellent customer service
About you:
As a proven Business Development Manager with a strong background in commercial asset finance, you will have experience with a range of Intermediaries across New Zealand and you will have a natural tenacity to follow up leads and generate new business opportunities.
Key criteria will include:
- Finance or Commerce Degree would be preferred (but not essential)
- Strong local knowledge of the NZ asset finance market, established relationships with Intermediaries
- Sound understanding of Credit Risk
- Experience in Structured Finance transactions (Principal & Agency) and preparing detailed credit memorandums
- Strong Negotiation and Influencing skills in structuring finance deals
- Understanding of regulatory obligations
- Ability to achieve and exceed New Business Volume targets
- Proven track record of business development experience in commercial asset finance
- Ability to train and educate Intermediaries on BOQ products, processes and procedures.
