About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the IM&T team within the Central Business Function based at Adelaide.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/ or hybrid working.
Reporting to the Business Analysis Manager you will be responsible for clarification of business needs through the investigation, analysis, review and documentation of requirements to delivered solutions that are appropriate and aligned to the business needs
Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop the plan of work through identifying stakeholders, determining analysis techniques and planning analysis activities.
  • Assist in the requirements management process through eliciting and prioritising business or customer requirements to ensure they accurately reflect the needs of the business or customer, and are managed for traceability, change and reuse.
  • Assist in the Requirements Analysis through analysing business or customer requirements to facilitate the determination of feasible, cost effective solutions that will meet business or customer objectives and deliver value.
  • Contribute to stakeholder communication management through effective expectation and prioritisation management, and mapping of requirements to stakeholder needs.
  • Assist in the design, delivery, testing and validation of solutions against business or customer requirements, and develop and deliver plans for business or customer acceptance.
  • Engage with business and IM&T teams to capture business problems and opportunities, and analyse current processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop business analysis work plans including stakeholder identification, engagement/workshop planning, technique selection and outcome definition.
  • Contribute to current technology initiatives and business analysis techniques.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve the way the team delivers services and capability to the business or customer.

About YOU

  • At least 2 years of experience in business analysis spanning across multiple business capability domains and/or complex integrated system environments
  • Ability to apply business knowledge to customer business requirements
  • High level of interpersonal and customer communication, customer focus, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to cope in high pressure situations to manage conflicts, provide influence and build trusted relationships.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving in the area of breaking down complex problems, determining innovative solutions, and validating solutions against customer needs. Demonstrated proficiency in business process mapping.
  • A strong level of business understanding.
  • Some technical knowledge is required to align requirements with solutions.
  • Experience working in cross functional delivery teams (project managers, business analysts, architects, technical leads, subject matter experts, change managers).
  • Experience working in a relevant industry is helpful, but not required.
