Job Title: Obsolescence Manager
Location: Portsmouth Broad Oakand possibly Chelmsford, Great Baddow, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £57,810 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Co-ordinateing the obsolescence management systems data base (OMSDB) reporting cycle
Interfacing and hosting reviews with internal stakeholders to prioritise obsolescence activities
Ensuring asset stock holding levels are maintained and recorded though internal & external channels
Hardware/unit failure rate details are understood and data maintained
Co-ordinating and conduct obsolescence risk assessment activity
Chairing customer meetings to report on the project status and findings through the obsolescence strategy
Understanding, enacting, and updating the TRAM (Torpedo Repair and Maintenance) obsolescence Management Plan
Co-ordinating obsolescence resolution activities
Providing status reports as required to the TRAM project team in order to satisfy the reporting requirements e.g. Status Reviews / QPRM Report etc
Identifying and developing opportunities for last time buy requirements
Being responsible for their own quality and notify line manager of any quality lapses or best practice
Determination to meet project deadlines to meet contractual requirements
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Knowledge of the BSI standard for Obsolescence Management; BS EN IEC 62402:2019 and Obsolescence Management techniques and requirements
Knowledgeable in the field of repair facility management (production and scheduling) and Depot Spares provisioning
Experienced in MS Office including Word and Excel, Shared Data Environment, SAP and My Options
Good working knowledge of the toolsets across multiple functions i.e. project/manufacturing/procurement
Desirable:
Ideally will have an IIOM certified Obsolescence Management qualification or equivalent
Understanding and experience of MoD standards Def-Stan 00-600
