Job title: Firefighter
Location: Warton + shift allowance
Salary:£35,115 + shift pay after induction/training
What you’ll be doing:
Respond to all emergency situations within the airport licensed area
Perform routine tests and inspections in all rescue and firefighting services equipment
Participate in mandatory and routine training sessions applicable to the Firefighter role
Carry out mandatory assessments applicable to the Firefighter role
Maintain personal training and competence
Carry out station and other duties
Communicate effectively with others, whilst treating people with dignity and respect regardless of their background or culture
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Recognised Firefighter qualification such as NVQ Level 3 Operational Firefighter or demonstrated competency as a Firefighter in either a recognised local authority or Aviation sector, CAP 699 or MOD
GCSE in English, Maths and Science at Grade C or above or equivalent award
A formally recognised Breathing Apparatus Wearer’s qualification
Existing LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) Cat C Licence or willingness to pass LGV CAT C Licence course requirements once in the role
Excellent standards of physical fitness and able to pass a full fire service medical
Current First Aid certificate or equivalent
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Certificated Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Fire Safety qualifications are desirable
Working at Height & Confined Space Rescue
Working in difficult environments i.e. mud rescue, water rescue awareness

The Rescue and Firefighter Service:
As a Firefighter, you will be required to discharge rescue and firefighting functions across the Warton Aerodrome and respond to aircraft incidents/accidents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate physical strength and stamina, with the ability to pass Physical Firefighter activity tests including a Shuttle Run test (VO2 Max 42) and are committed to promoting safety, equality and diversity within the workplace
You will be a dedicated team player and demonstrate courage, positivity and resilience to changing circumstances and expectations. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work as an Operational Firefighter within a dynamic and exciting environment, and provide further career development on any pre-existing skillsets supported through a recognised rank structure within the department
