Plumber – Maintenance

Location: Barrow-in-Furness - This role will require working to a shift rota

Salary: Competitive

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Following the relevant instructions, manufacturers and technical drawings, as well as any other specifications
  • Using associated tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintenance and repair of domestic and commercial water systems
  • Maintenance and repair of compressed air and industrial gasses
  • Maintenance and repair of domestic and commercial gas heaters, boilers and associated pipework
  • Monitoring and control of legionella in water systems
  • Supporting/mentoring apprentices

Your skills and experiences:

  • Plumbing apprenticeship, NVQ level 3, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in diagnostics and testing
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
  • Understanding of water regulations

Desirable:

  • Engineering/industrial environment experience
  • Plant maintenance background
  • Gas Safe
  • Legionella prevention experience
  • Isolation process competent
  • Industrial gas knowledge

The Plant Maintenance team:

You will be working as part of the Plant Maintenance team, focusing on Plumbing aspects of maintenance across our submarine manufacturing facility.

This role will provide you with variety as every day is different and can potentially take you to all areas of the Barrow site. The role works across multiple programmes and will allow you to initiate continuous improvements across the business
